I work with the human figure reduced to its essentials: light and shadow, structure and absence. The light decides what the viewer is permitted to see; the darkness takes the rest. I don’t use shadow to conceal, I use it as an active part of the composition, a second material the body is built from as much as skin and bone.

This practice comes from twenty years spent on both sides of the camera, as photographer and as model. That duality shapes how I direct a body, because I have stood in front of the lens as often as behind it, and I know what the light is asking a subject to give.

Nudity in this work is not exposure, it is clarity: a stripping away of symbol until only form, tension, and presence remain. Power is not performed, it is held. What emerges is not always a familiar form, and that is where the work actually lives.
